Restoration-period chased bronze and gilt bronze HANGER decorated with Orpheus playing the lyre leaning on a stele decorated in bas-relief with the Hero charming Cerberus. White enamelled dial signed SOURIAU Rue Feydeau n° 20 with Roman numerals for the hours and railroads for the minutes Wire-suspension movement complete with gong, pendulum and key, in apparent working order (not guaranteed). Base decorated in bas-relief with an Antique-style vase flanked by musician-lovers on laurel garlands and feline masks. Four skate feet with water-leaf and scraper moldings Beautiful agate-polished and ambered gilding 45 x 30 x 13 cm (minor wear, slight wear to gilding)
