CAVALRY OFFICER'S SABRE model 1896. Horn handle with filigree. Brass mounting, symmetrical four-point shell guard with foliage decoration and Medusa head. Pommel monogrammed "NC". Flat-backed straight blade engraved "Sabre d'officier de cavalerie Mle 1896 1re taille Manufacture nationale d'armes de Châtellerault 1902. J.H", and hollow sides.
