JAPAN, 19th CENTURY KATANA with almost straight shinogi-zukuri blade, gunome hamon, nakago with three mekugi-ana, with Masafumi ?? signature.
The koshirae with black lacquer scabbard, iron sukashi-tsuba decorated with stylized birds, iron fuchi-kashira and gilded highlights on the theme of dragon (kashira) and waves (fuchi); the tsuka laced on same, with two menuki featuring vegetal motifs; a kogatana with kozuka decorated in relief and gilded rahuts with a dragon and tiger facing each other.
