Dubourg. Our painting is traditionally identified with Louise-Charlotte de Noailles (1745-1832), Duchesse de Duras, a French memorialist who became lady of the palace to Marie Leszczynska in 1767 and then to Marie-Antoinette from 1770 to 1791. In 1760, she married Emmanuelle-Céleste de Durfort, Duc de Duras. The model's presumed age calls this identification into question.
