FRENCH SCHOOL CIRCA 1700 Portrait of Prince Louis-Alexandre de Bourbon (1678-1737) OVAL CANVAS 55 x 46 cm Louis XIV period oak leaf frame (old restorations) Provenance: André Brochant de Villiers collection (1772-1840), then by descent. Prince Louis-Alexandre de Bourbon, (1678-1737) Count of Toulouse, seventh Duke of Penthièvre and Rambouillet, was the last son legitimized by Louis XIV from his affair with Françoise-Athénais de Rochechouart Mortemart, Marquise de Montespan.
