VERY RARE LANTERN in the Louis XVI Style Late 19th or Early 20th Century In gilt bronze and silver with repoussé and chased decoration. The upper part imitates a dome decorated with asparagus channels, pearls and acanthus leaves. The central part is flanked by fluted pilasters, filleted with intersecting asparagus and 6 arches with glass panels, one of which opens. Decorated with fruit, flowers, rosettes and a frieze of interlaced circles with buttons. Resting on 6 baluster feet. Height with socket. 53 cm - Diam. 25 cm (minor wear and oxidation, no hallmarks) This is an exceptional model in terms of material and quality of chasing. probably a special order and close to the productions of the great decorative houses of the second half of the 19th century.
