PRESENT and TRIBUTE - Early 20th century Italian silver work depicting Bacchus with snake mounted on marble base with plaque and inscription "Al vice Ammiraglio Mr Lacaze La Marina Italiana". H. Total . 22.5 cm (upper part incomplete) Lucien LACAZE (1860-1955) was a French admiral and politician who played an important role in the renovation of the French Navy, becoming Minister of the Navy from 1915 to 1917. Until his death, he held many official and honorary positions related to the sea, science and culture.
