ISPAHAN RUG (cotton warp and weft, wool velvet), central Persia, circa 1930-1950 217 x 146 cm This finely knotted carpet features a central ivory and red double rosette extended by two pendants on a midnight-blue background enhanced by an elegant polychrome stylized floral design. The entire composition is embellished with four tobacco spandrels. A tobacco border with flower garlands is framed by four counter-borders.
