ROLEX "OYSTER Men's wristwatch in 585-thousandths gold, champagne dial with Arabic numerals and applied spike hour markers, central second hand. Case back engraved with an inscription ''Sorine from Polly and Gilbert'', dated December 12, 1946. Mechanical movement signed and numbered E48217. Leather strap with gilded metal pin buckle. Around 1945/50, probably for the American market. Case back reference 4365. It is accompanied by a case from the house Rolex. Gross weight: 40.10 g. Diam: 33.5 mm. This watch probably belonged to Savely Abramovitch Sorine (1878-1953), a Russian portraitist who emigrated to Paris around 1920 and then to New York at the end of his life, having painted the British royal family.
