Placide POUSSIELGUE RUSAND (1824-1891) et BACCARAT - CALICE CUP in Minerve 950 Millièmes vermeil and ruby and white overlay crystal The bowl finely engraved with foliage and chimeric protuberances The Gothic-style foot partially openworked and molded with foliate scrolls and set with agate cabochons. PB. 116 g H. 32 cm Placide Poussielgue Rusand was a Parisian silversmith and bronzemaker best known for his liturgical objects and church bronzes. Recognized by his peers, he won prizes at the 1851 and 1878 Universal Exhibitions. He chaired the jury for goldsmiths in 1889.
