SOUTH CHINA, Late 19th Century IMPORTANT embroidered silk and linen PANEL depicting a scholar enjoying a painting inside a pavilion, surrounded by young mandarins and disciples. The decoration is completed by bats, ruyi-shaped clouds and a garland of Greek flowers.
