CHINA, Early 20th Century IMPORTANT CONSOLE in wood, richly carved and openworked with stylized masks and foaming waves. The belt is decorated with motifs of bats, qilin and birds evolving on waves. The edge of the top carved with friezes of stylized lotus petals and ruyi heads. N.B. The base is probably made of Asian Padouk wood, the top probably of African Padouk wood.
